Workshops

These workshops are designed to support people who are navigating emotionally demanding work, leadership, and life. Each one offers a chance to pause, reconnect with the body, and build tools for resilience, clarity, and self-trust.

→ The sessions are practical and reflective.
→ They’re rooted in somatic practice and nervous system awareness.
→ And they are delivered with care, spaciousness, and deep respect for the pace of each person’s process.

Whether you’re leading a team, holding space for others, or simply looking for a different way to be with yourself - these workshops offer a moment to breathe, to reset, and to come back to what really matters.

Regulate To Lead

Nervous-system-centred leadership for sustainable impact

This workshop explores how leadership begins in the body.
Participants learn how their nervous system responses shape the way they show up, make decisions, and interact with others — especially under pressure. Through a blend of somatic education, reflection, and grounding practices, this session supports leaders to stay present, steady, and clear in high-stakes situations. It's not about perfect leadership — it’s about embodied leadership.

Ideal for: Team leaders, managers, or anyone navigating emotional labour and decision-making.

Participants will leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of their own stress patterns

so they can recognise early signs of overwhelm and take proactive steps, reducing burnout and improving focus.

  • Personal tools to regulate in the moment

so they can lead more effectively during high-pressure situations and maintain clarity in decision-making.

  • A grounded sense of what it means to lead from within

so they can foster psychologically safe environments and support more emotionally resilient teams.

Grounded Conversations

A somatic approach to emotionally demanding conversations

This session supports people in preparing for and moving through difficult conversations — without abandoning themselves in the process.

Rather than scripts or strategies, we focus on the body: what happens before, what arises during, and what’s needed afterwards. Through guided practice and reflection, participants learn how to stay present, regulated, and connected throughout challenging interactions.

Ideal for: Anyone who supports others, gives feedback, holds emotional space, or navigates conflict.

Participants will leave with:

  • Tools to regulate themselves before and during a conversation

so they can approach difficult discussions without reactivity, leading to better outcomes and reduced conflict.

  • New ways to recognise when they’re activated or overwhelmed

so they can stay present, manage emotional responses, and avoid escalation in high-stakes moments.

  • Practical steps for emotional recovery and integration afterwards

so emotional labour doesn’t accumulate, supporting long-term wellbeing and better workplace relationships.

Room To Breathe

Somatic practices for resilience and recovery

This gentle, nourishing session supports participants in recognising their personal signs of burnout and building rhythms of rest into their daily lives.

Instead of generic self-care tips, we focus on the nervous system — exploring how to notice early signals, what your body needs to feel safe again, and how to build small but powerful moments of restoration into the workday.

Ideal for: Whole teams, staff in caring professions, or organisations focused on wellbeing and emotional sustainability.

Participants will leave with:

  • An understanding of their unique stress and recovery patterns

so they can build healthier rhythms at work, leading to greater consistency, engagement, and energy.

  • Simple somatic tools for daily use

so they can manage their emotional load without needing long breaks or extended time off.

  • A renewed relationship with rest — as a right, not a reward

so they can sustain performance without sacrificing wellbeing — reducing presenteeism and burnout-related absence.

The foundations of Space to Be

This work is guided by four quiet but powerful principles.
They shape the way we hold space, the way we work with the body, and the way we support others to lead and live with more ease.

  • We believe in the importance of slowing down.
In a world that constantly asks us to push, produce, and perform, we offer space to pause. Stillness allows the nervous system to settle. Quiet gives us a chance to hear what we often miss: our breath, our feelings, our own voice. We don’t rush to fill silence. We trust it.

  • We don’t force insight or pressure outcomes.
Our approach is rooted in the idea that when there’s enough space, what needs to emerge will. Clarity doesn’t always arrive on demand. We give people time and room to notice, to reflect, and to let new awareness unfold naturally.

  • We don’t ask people to leave parts of themselves at the door.
There’s no performance required here. We believe that growth happens when people feel safe to be fully themselves — with all the edges, emotions, and contradictions that come with being human. You don’t need to become someone else. You just need space to be more of who you already are.

  • We don’t tell people what to do.
We help them learn how to listen to themselves again. We work with the body because the body often knows what the mind tries to override. This work supports people to build trust in their own signals, their own insight, and their own timing — not someone else’s version of what’s right.

About the Founder

Space to Be was founded by Nicola Crooks-Ramgeet, a somatic coach, clinical hypnotherapist, and accredited Thinking Partner with a background in leadership and mathematics.

As a Black woman working across coaching, education and corporate spaces, Nicola saw how often people, especially Black women and those in emotionally demanding roles, were holding everything together while feeling completely disconnected from their own needs. She created this space as a response to that: a quiet alternative to environments that reward over-functioning and overthinking.

Nicola trained at The Somatic School, and her approach draws on Focusing, Constellations, Hakomi principles, and nervous system-led coaching. Her work is body-led, values-driven, and grounded in the belief that we all deserve space to feel, reflect, and reconnect — not just in theory, but in practice.

Through Space to Be, she offers something simple but powerful: space to return to yourself, and tools to help others do the same.
